Our new fraud-fighting newsletter

Hot off the press: our fraud team have put together a regular newsletter to highlight the latest fraud tactics and how to protect against them.

‘The Big Con’ brings together articles written by the officers on the frontline against fraud. Each story pieces together how a scam occurred and what to do to avoid it.

We’re aiming to share this far and wide, working with local partners to have physical copies in key locations, as well as providing an easily shareable digital version.

Fraud Protect Officer Tammy Barnes said: “The more people who read this, the more chance that they will take away one piece of advice that could help stop a scam in its tracks.

“Criminals are constantly changing their tactics, evolving with new technology and looking for ways to exploit a moment of vulnerability.

“We want to know what you think, please send in your suggestions and story ideas to the details outlined in the newsletter.”

Remember: Stop! Think Fraud. That moment of question can be key in stopping a scammer.
